vail lake report.

after putting in 60 plus hours looking yt/wsb in the past 2 months, for nada I hit vail lake for some lmb action. it took me a bit to get dialed in but it was on after that. crappie on the troll. the bass were chasing shad up the coves. got over 20 fish in the 2-3lb range in about 3 hours. no lurkers but it was fun + now i'm ready for another 60 hours of skunk

I fish vail consistanly almost on a weekly basis. Vail lake has bigger crappie in it then any other lake i have ever fished. I have caught solid 3lbers out of there throwing large crank baits in the sticks. They school in huge numbers as well. If you can find one. You can find a hundred.

SHHH its a secrete tho

Nice catch! Vail is a private lake, right? I live in Temecula. It would be nice to take a break from that long commute to LJ. Thanks for sharing!

shore and kayak is open to the public. they dont advertise it but go in the office at the main gate. talk to yaroslav or whatever his name is and tell him you want to fish off your kayak for the day. he will try to get 30+ bucks out of you but tell him "what 30 bucks, last time i paid 25". fishing from shore is 10. they have night crawlers for 5. good luck

I appreciate the insight. Vail lake is a place I definitely want to fish, especially when they have kayak tournaments. Thanks again!
