 Nice..... who will be the first to get out there and get one!  You mention night? Jig fish?  What depth? What class size of fish? Must make sure I have the right gear....

Easy to say "easy kayak range" - I have been monitoring the fleet location HERE and generally have been 8 - 10 miles out, but at night, its very hard to judge that distance when you see bright lights.
TIP: You can use "copy coordinates" option on MarineTraffic and paste coordinates into Google Earth's search bar, and then use the ruler to measure distance from a launch spot. The Grande, right this moment, is fishing 8.7 miles off La Jolla. The Searcher is 12 miles off Del Mar
