Nice, you got a good spot, I camped site 25 last year and it was super nice being close to the water. All the times I have been to silver lake I have been restricted to fishing from the shore and the fishing was good, but now with the kayak I'm excited I can explore new areas.

As for crawfish do you have any tips on where to put my traps? Like depth, general location (creek vs lake), etc? If you want to keep it a secret thats fine!

Web Cam

Its not the La Jolla web cam...but it sure looks nice up there today...!

Deltadelta...both the creek and lake were good for the Crawdads.
The Lake seemed better on the side opposite the campground and road...the shadier side with a better drop-off and more structure (rocks and tree roots) held better numbers...typical of crustaceans.
Gull Lake and June Lake were the same, with the better catch on that type of terrain.
The creek was Ok, but with an overnight soak we felt that we had to hide our traps since we couldn't keep an eye on them like we could at the lake. There are some big Crawdads walking around on the creek bottom out near the lake entrance... if you payed attention to the bottom you could net them while they were out in the daytime.
