I can never get the spectra to get that Chinese finger trap effect on the leader. I've spent hours tying it when I have downtime, but it's just one knot I can't seem to master.

What I do is put my rod in a holder at a slight angle, then I put a decent weight on the end of the braid (I usually use my pliers). Just let it dangle there. This keeps the spectra line always tight and I proceed with the alternating wraps with the flouro.

I could never do it will with just my hands
