Was able to take the Kraken 13.5 out few a demo session on Mission Bay. The Kraken 13.5 is a fast kayak. The boat has good glide and tracks well. A rudder would work really well on this kayak and the install is straight forward. I own a Tarpon 140 and to me the speed is similar. The stability is good as I was able to stand up and fish. It was a calm morning with a lite wind and not much boat traffic, but was still able to stand up. The seat is comfortable, feels a little better then the previous model. It does have a high/low seating system but I only used it in the low position. I have a larger crate and was easily able to reach everything in the crate from the seated position. I used the center hatch with the hatch insert. The insert was great for storing pliers, snacks, tackle, and even a jacket. My quick take on the Kraken 13.5 is a good paddling kayak that will fish well, get you there quick, and provide a comfortable platform for your outing especially if you have back issues. We have a demo here ready for you to try out if your in the market for a new kayak.

Nice little review, but you must be a paddleboarder to be able to stand up on it? I know I saw something Sammons wrote about designing it that if you can stand on it then it's too wide. Great looking boat!

Not a paddleboarder or surfer. Not saying that you can fish the open ocean throwing iron and fighting a yellow standing up, just that you can stand up on Kraken 13.5 in the right conditions.

This is the Jackson that I have been waiting for, plan to paddle this one a lot.
I can pick it up over my head with the 2 side handles and load it on the truck. Only paddled it one morning off Dana (that was the first and LAST time I ever fish anchovies from the kayak.) I plan to use this one a lot. ![]() Started rigging it up today: available to DEMO.

Where is the on/off switch for the pump? Battery storage configuration?
