If its a dedicated halibut rod you might want
some thing with a fast taper, not fast action. This will give a softer tip to handle head shakes But still have lifting power near the back. A 7' 15-30 or 20-40 graphite rod would be my go to. I like seeker black steels. If you want extra sensitivity go with braid. But with braid you definitely want s softer rod. Mike |
