LJ making bait

I'm taking my 14 year old sister out of LJ shores tomorrow and Id love to have her catch a couple mackerel on the ultra light I just got her. Have been away at college and haven't gotten out recently, is there a good amount of bait to be had out there right now? Or best to try another spot? Thanks

Caught about 25 macs and a baby calico before she got cold. Loved hearing that drag scream off that little reel and road just double over.
