Good time out there with Honcho and his boy.

My son caught a GIGANTIC halibut, bigger than a 9-year old boy!

No.. it's fisherman camera tricks... he swung his rod around so I could unhook his halibut. It was nice, but sub-legal.. I'd guess 16-17" maybe.

I couldn't find my pliers, so I tried to carefully take the hook out, and got chomped. Bass thumb is ok... Halibut thumb is not. OUCH!! (bled for awhile, and still aches and swollen now)
