Bring a buddy.

Bring warm clothes, or a change if you expect to be wet. Nothing worse than being cold and wet out there.

Get there early enough .....earlier than that to make squid And be set up to fish well before gray light. Some guys fish through the night.

Bring some fresh dead just in case you can't make bait.

Hang a squid while you are making more squid.

Put on a sumo glow jig with a couple of squid on it down there.

Many fishermen say that a couple of days before, during and up to a few days after a full moon is premium time. Some other guys say the opposite

Make fun of your friends on the radio to fill in the hours of not getting a bite.

I have never tried the above steps but I know a guy that did.
