send sabiki down for sand dabs = okay.
send sabiki down for rockfish = bad idea. use lucanus jig for weight on bottom of sabiki = catch big fish.. but you lose fish because your sabiki main line is too light. sabiki bycatches (with torpedo sinker) include rock wrasse. senorita, smelt, bonito, sand bass, calico bass, spotted bay bass, cuda, halibut, lizardfish, crabs, sand dabs, flounders, turbots, bat rays, leopard sharks, opaleye, smooth hound sharks, blacksmith perch, shiner perch. sabiki bycatches (with lucanus) include the above listed fish and also black seabass, white seabass, yellowtail, maybe you are thinking of how people hook up lincods with a rockfish in their mouth. that is common. but that has nothing to do with a sabiki. its more in common with using live bait.
