Sounds like a great day! I just went from the Stealth 14 to a Outback and couldn't agree more about handling and the dry hull.

I thought you got a new hatch for the S12? still didn't help? I had some water in mine on my last LJ trip from the return through the surf. Not sure if from the front hatch or the side ones. It still scares me when I'm 2miles out and not sure how much water I took into my stealth14...

Glad you got a new dry yak, nice fish to boot!!

The Stealths definitely leak through the hatches on the side. Being a bigger (ok, fatter) guy like me definitely makes the boat ride lower and more susceptible to the splash over coming in the Kayak. There is some fixes on the hatches on-line where people have lined them with weatherstripping and this seems to work pretty well. The reason why I switched to Hobie was my Stealth was motorized and now I am forced to exercise!
