I foresee a pilgrimage of people heading north in search of a 48" butt. Good luck, take pics and dont step on George's toes. You should see his profile pics when hes pissed.

lol yes i am in search of the big barn doors and the recent post has really got me fired up. i usually do well on the Los alamitos side (15 butts per hour) but they are all 10-17". i hear tons about how the big butts hang out in cabrillo but i've never ventured that far yet.

There's plenty of flatties from 72nd place to Downtown Long Beach. Try launching at Cherry Beach and fishing south along the beach. No need to paddle all the way out to the wall.

A big advantage to Cabrillo is easy access to the bait barge. At Cherry you'd have to make/bring bait or fish plastics, etc.

If you launch from the catamaran launch (Claremount Ave) or the 72nd street jetty the paddle/peddle to the bait barge isn't to bad, its not as close when compared to Cabrillo but it's definately within reach. Once you get your bait you can fish east along the breakwall toward Pier J then go north toward the Queen Mary followed by another right back towards your launch site.
