While we are on the subject, I'd like to clarify something. I almost never keep bass. In fact, I think I have killed all of 2 sand bass in my life. One to eat (found it not good), and one for lobster bait (found it didn't work well). I've killed around a dozen calicos for the occassional tacos or tournaments. I've never killed a spotty. I like to joke about bass but in reality I probably account for a lot less mortality than the serious C&R fisherman. The only fish I've ever killed and not made an effort to see eaten was a barracuda for last years CTF, and that was mainly because it had been in the sun for hours before I got back to shore. My rape of the ocean this year so far = 2 YT & 2 lobster. But let's hope that changes soon.

Brad, that's why I defended your position. I saw several posts about you being a killing machine
with 7 rods, blah, blah, blah. My position is, if you eat it, great. I'm willing to bet the casual
fisherman kills more with ignorance than most experienced anglers do with their legal take.
Especially when you consider the long term effects of undersized or mating fish.

I don't keep anything but yellowtail and lobster. I guess that's because I'm still looking for
a legal halibut and WSB. This season, I've kept 11 lobster, with 4 being over 4lbs and
1 nearly 5lbs. I guess that adds up to more than 35lbs of lobster this season.
In 2006, I took just over 25lbs of YT with 3 firecrackers the first 2 weeks I started kayak fishing, in Sept.
Nothing else...oh except maybe about 50lbs of mackeral.
