Tony and I got off the water as soon as the thunder and lighting were within striking distance

The kids rod was crazy. Glad we don't much lighting here on the coast in so cal. Lived in the outer banks of NC for a year. Lighting is the real deal back there. Storms rolling off the ocean n every body runs for it. I got caught in one out on the marsh on the south end of Roanoke Island. I was the highest point for a mile around. No where to run or hide. Laid the rods down in the yak, laid down in the marsh grass, and just chilled with the rain beating on me. 1/2 later storm had moved on and I went back to catching red fish. Mike

I already had a life and death situation back during the Rock fish derby last year, and didn't think risking lightning strikes was a good idea.

Wild day out there today.

Be careful and check the doppler radar on the weather channel app.

I saw a window this AM and went out and got one mac that found one yellow.

Wild, wild, fun, day.

Pro golfer Chi Chi Rodriguez said if you are ever in a lightning storm hold up a one iron, because even God can't hit a one iron.
