Instead of wood at top of vert boards, have the horizontal boards flush to top of vert boards, and have brackets at junctions, same X bracing with the blue cinch down straps.

Sorry, no actual pics but comes with foam kayak pads screwed into wood, wood painted black, fits in the bed rail slots nice and tight, have used it on many Mex trips at good speeds over the washboard roads and no probs with a couple yaks, just ask Paul...
