Apresentation and help on the extreme front hatch

Hi!

My name is Godinho Ramos, I´m from Portugal, I have 30 years old and I got a Malibu eXtreme at five months ago for fishing, but I have a problem with the front hatch.

I read some posts at this forum about some people with same problem
and I made my decision i gonna siliconed like bassboyc tells in this post:

http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/s...ead.php?t=3241

I have only a question, to siliconed, we take off the ruber that was supost to seal the hatch or we just put silicone around?

Thx

P.S. - Sorry for my english

I think what CJ said was to seal the rubber gasket to the kayak with the Marine Goop and then add another layer of weather stripping Gooped to the gasket to make it taller, thus sealing better.

Don't worry, your English is better than half of the people that post on these boards...lol

I always just ran the silicone along the base of that weather stripping. OR you could replace the gasket with trimlock like Ocean kayaks. Or if you really wanted to you could just add trimlock to the hatch itself creating a double gasket.

Ramos,

Good luck on the big fish.

You never know what you will catch until you try.

My buddy Jasmin had the best solution for leaky eX hatch - duck tape the crap out of it! If you don't need access, that may as well be the way to go.
Welcome to BWE Ramos! Great to see guys from good 'ol Europe. Hope to see some fish reports from you.

Good luck with that, I've just resigned myself to the fact that I'll ship a little water when launching thru the surf.

Pictures are worth a 1000 words, or something like that. Anyone have a shot of the additional weather striping?

Thanks,
Jim

Boas!

Fico contente por haver mais pessoal a falar o Português!

E aposto que ai na Califórnia a Pesca de Kayak é mesmo BRUTAL!
