Striped bass from yak

Anyone have any pointers on targeting them from kayaks?
I live near Redondo but was wondering if anyone has had any success.
I hear that some fisherman from shore catch them in Hermosa and Manhattan beach using lures.

Woah, I didn't even now they were around down here. I have heard about it but figured it was just yappin. That would be sweet to try and target them. Might be easiest to target from the shore like the east coasters and nor cal guys do.

I wouldn't even know where to start for bait tho. I know east coasters like sand eels, and big plugs and poppers, but no idea for our left coasters.

At castaic lake they have lots of success trolling flys with leadcore. Rather than just leaving the rod alone, theyll constantly pull on the leadcore causing the fly to dart through the water.

Stripe Bass Sth of Point Conception is more of an anomaly than a standard species that one can set out to target on a yearly basis. When I went to college in the SF Bay area, the casting lure of choice was a white bucktail with a mister twister tail. When the Salmon re-stocking truck arrived on the campus, one could get their 2 fish striper limit in two casts.

I do good at Silverwood with Lucky Craft Pointer. F & G used to stock them along the coast in the 70's but I don't think the do anymore
