Looking for launch areas for Fishing Long Beach and Newport harbor

Hey guys I usually fish out of Dana point but I want to expand my fishing spots to these two locations. Where are good launching areas that will get me out of the harbor rather quickly? Also at Newport I have heard that there is a location directly out of the mouth of the harbor for rock fishing. Does anybody happen to have the coordinates for the area?

I launch at the end of the parking lot by the lifeguard tower at 72nd street in long beach. You do have to haul your kayak over the short beach to get to the sand though.

In Newport, I will launch at the end of H,I, J or K street. These streets are off of balboa. A lot of people will launch out of Kid's Beach in Newport but when it's low tide, I hate dropping my kayak over that cement bump.

Yes, you didn't post this in the correct discussion forum but who cares.

Either general kayak discussion or buy/sell/trade kayak gear.

I launch out of the coast guard station at New Port harbor. Its only a 1/2 mile paddle to the Harbor entrance. You can drag over the sand to the little beach launch or use the sidewalk. Nice restrooms and water to rinse off the equipment when you get back.

I have fished for rock cod several times there but don't know of any specific area. Mostly you just have to get out in 200 ft of water or so and look for the schools holding off the bottom.
