Solo at DP

Julie had school, so I went to DP solo, chasing points for the WCW contest. Since she got hers' Saturday, I was hoping for some halibut to close the 140 point gap she has on me (or at least keep pace).

I managed one legal halibut (23") for some catch-n-release points. Here's the photo:

Rather poor photo, I guess I only take good ones of Julie's catches.

The day started slow, with intermitent good-sized waves rolling in. I couldn't fish our favorite spots until about 8:00AM, when the tide was high enough to change the break. Then the action started picking up.

My final tally:

4 short 'buts, released

1 legal 'but, released

2 leopard sharks, released

2 legal sandies, released

3 barracuda, released, 1 probably legal (in the harbor)

1 22" WSB, released (scrappy fighter)

Back at Baby's Beach I met two nice guys in Tim and Donovan, fellow yakkers. Off the the water by 1:30PM, early by our standards.

At least I had some points, to keep Julie from blowing me away.

Aaron

Thanks, Aaron. I was just about to ask if anyone was catching anything at Dana. I was planning to drive up this morning. Maybe Dana Point next week, if the weather is right. Thanks again.

Aaron, I'd be very happy to put up 15 points on the board this month. I heard you told Julie to go back in for the thermos of coffee and took off Congrats on the C&R

School?

Sh$t, Andy, it's the only way I can have the halibut holes to myself.
