40 years ago my fishing buddie and I would drive from Glendale to Redondo arriving very early to be the first in line. We would buy two corner stern spots on the Redondo Special for both the morning and afternoon half day trips. After we got our tickets we would have breakfast at Polly's on the pier. The picture is sad but brings back great memories.

48 yrs ago my buddy and boarded the Mascot IV out of there for $5.50 child fare fishing the West End of Catalina! We also ate at Polly's and pizza boats in basin 3 after scrubbing the Special in exchange for free trips -- great memories!

My wife and I loved to go to Polly's for breakfast. As parrot owners, we liked the name.
We got to know the staff and were kind of regulars.

I also fished the pier and made friends with the bait shop owners.

I only went on the sportfishing boat one time and was disappointed of the service.
They cared more for the regulars than the newcomers. The dummies did not realize that the newcomers could become regulars.
