La Jolla Launch

Seems residents are pissed at how long this is taking also...

Since there hasn't been a specific completion date mentioned, it's probably going to go beyond Memorial Day.

La Jolla Launch

Deamon and I watched them work on the overhead power lines the morning of the rockfish derby. fascinating to watch, but you have to feel for the residents.

woe is me

Trying dealing with the traffic that is caused by the constant closures of the 405/605 as well as the ongoing construction/expansion of the 5 freeway in Norwalk.

I love it. They rent the heavy equipment from the company I work for. Gives me my paycheck. Silver lining in everything.

After reading that article I have one question. ...can we slip in on that over night parking the tennis club is offering up? Cause if that's the case, keep the construction rolling!

dido here. i was going to try to get out to LJ within the next week or so.

HOW LONG HAS THIS BEEN GOING ON SO FAR ?

CAN THE LAUNCH EVEN BE ACCESSED AT ALL RIGHT NOW ?

IS ANYONE EVEN ABLE TO GET A KAYAK ONTO THE LJ SHORES BEACH, TO THEN LAUNCH INTO THE WATER ?

perhaps coming onto the boardwalk/sidewalk around the public showers & restrooms area, and then rolling the yak in down the boardwalk, on kayak dolly wheels ?

is THIS how people are getting their yak onto the beach, during this construction ?
.

Yes, basically depending on when you arrive and where you can park, etc. people are rolling on Vallecitos where the bathrooms are, down a few steps onto the sand and then rolling down the beach.

The box has been completed and the drain pipes have been laid. Next comes the paving of the first block which will be made out of concrete.

Remember, it takes 28 days for the concrete to dry. So, at this point we are looking a little pass May before the launch reopens. Also, the city has a legal moratorium to finish before the end of June.

My guess, I say the launch will open by mid June.
