Vincetek9 > man that is what I was afraid of ... bloody sweat pants and bloody beef jerky chum too...you were definately the perfect "juicy bloody medium rare steak"....tip #2 keep the YT head in the water when you bleed it - not on your lap...if you do get blood on you wear some waterproof waders so you can wash it off...

After surfing for years in Humboldt Co. seeing seals, sea lions, and elephants seals dead on the beach with beer keg sized bites out of them I just asume that there are sharks in the ocean with me. Mostly for the sea lion issue when I land a fish, it gets bled through the scupper hole, wrapped in a damp towel, and stowed in the hatch. Then I use a sponge to rinse the deck down. Maybe this will stop a blood trail too. I see guys with fish strapped in plain sight in thier tank wells. Maybe that works but I have been "shopped" by huge dogs that lift themselves so high out of the water that they are looking down on me. I have no doubt that if I had had a fish on deck they would have come right in to my lap for it. Mike

Somehow, punching at the nose or gills seems like you are just going to annoy the taxman to no end.

Note the description on the 'Internal Organs' slide:
