Italian Sushi

I bet you thought this thread was going to be about making Pizza.
-thats a story for another day.

To honor this Yellowfin I thought I would serve him up right, complete with Nishiki premium Sushi Rice, my rice dressing, and a pair of cocobola chop sticks.
-This fish went out in style

Oh, that looks tasty, but it wasn't what I was expecting. During a past trip to a favorite Vegas restaurant, we ate a raw yellowfin preparation that was the real deal - the Italian version of sashimi. It was incredible, no rice of course, drizzled with a bit of olive oil and other seasonings. That's what I was hoping to see; wish I had the recipe.

Rub it in Bully V...just rub it in.

And I'm not talking about the fish.

Billy Billy Billy...I'm sure it tasted wonderful....BUT that looks hideous!!

Looks like a bunch of chunked up catfish bait spread across a plate!

Now I'm 4th generation american but I still got my japanese blood in me and I can tell you that presentation is everything when it comes to sashimi and sushi. I gotta take a picture next time of what I'm looking at before I'm diving into fresh bluefin/yellowfin. I'm almost tempted to print that photo out and show my mother! she'd get a kick out of that!

I know my knife skills are not up to snuff.
Hey-I was hungry and the rice was taking too long, so I starting slicing it up and scarfing it down.
-My Blackened Ahi was better, I'll post it tomorrow.

My last attempt at putting together a plate. Probably not as good as Grego but I think the presentation was acceptable. Maguro and Toro..
