Concrete Jungle 1-22-11

Left the kayak at home today for one of my other favorite methods of fishing, the Float Tube! I gotta say, I love float tubing! I hit one of my favorite spots (although its off limits) for some early morning ninja fishing! Felt good to get in the tube and just enjoy the beautiful sunny day with calm waters. I love it when the fishies come out to play!

One of the main reasons I wanted to tube today rather than yak it, was to put to good use my Christmas gift from the wifey! She gave me a new Pfluger Supreme XT paired with a Carbonlite Rod from BPS. Gotta love the wifey! It was a gift from her and my two little munchigans! Love them lots!

Caught a couple calicos and two needle fish on the kick to the spot. I was stoked to break in the new rod and reel on some calis! Once on the honey hole the spot produced its regular sand bastards, scullys and the ocasional rock fish. I worked the area where I usually get to pull on some piggy scullys and rockies and managed to stick one finally after a couple that came undone. Here are some pictures from the iphone then released to get fatter!

I went home with some taco meat!

Thanks Jim!

Absolutely right, I didnt have a net on me so I used the floating cage to bring him on my lap and snap a couple of pictures and released him to fight another day. I ended up leaving with 5 sand bastards for tacos!
