DBite, sorry for the confusion, it was an overlooked assumption on my part and never came up in the first years Ironman contest. I have added that into the original rules. Being a kayak fishing website I had just figured it to be implied. Sorry! It would be cool to fish the backside of the surf on small days. I have thought of doing it many times.

No worries. Sometimes its hard to check those lawyer instincts (if it's not in writing...). I figured it wasn't allowed but thought since I was going perch fishing that day, and since it wasn't in writing, I might as well try to get away with one But I bet you can guess which species I'll be targeting next time I'm out...
