Lithium

Not just a station on XM Radio, battery packs are gaining some momentum.

This is a cool one from Confluence 15 AH and some cool connect-ability

Optional $99 solar panel and you have power for days. water resistant.

Prototype universal livewell utilizes lithium as well, not sure when this will be availble, still in development.

I've been using Lithium batteries for about 10 years now in the RC hobbie, they are one third the weight and more usable power. The biggest problem is having a dedicated charger and not over draining them

Lithium batteries are rad. But if you havent seen one burn yet. Do yourself a favor and see what happens when they become Compromised.

no, most lithium fires come from damage to the battery. A small impact point will suddenly go to a white hot fire and burn furiously. It should not be a problem in a case on a boat unless you over draw the power which will create excessive heat and maybe a fire. We have had guys crash their plane, put the wreckage in their car and drive home only to have the battery go off in their car or garage and burn everything to the ground. The technology is getting better all of the time and we aren't having as many fires as we used to. Lithium ion expressed as LiIo is much safer than lithium polymer, LiPo. I use a 3 cell LiPo on my fish finder. It runs for 6 or more hours and weighs less than a pound.
