Maybe mid to late June? Shouldnt be all that hot out there around then. Maybe 90's.

Ive done trips in September that were a killer though with temps approaching 120 so 90's is nice.

I'm planning a camping/fishing trip for this summer and taking the family. Exactly where is this part of the river? Looking for a place where the kids can play in the water and hopefully get them on some fish..even if it's blue gills or catfish. Any suggestions? One requirement though is the wifey needs a hot shower...any suggestions for campsite along the river with easy access and kid friendly?

Cool report/pix Joe. I've never had the kayak in fresh water and never fished the river, but really enjoy these types of reports with pix as it makes me feel like I've been there. Thx

Yep it is taylor lake in picacho state park. No showers at the lake but hot showers at the main campground on the river. Supposedly they are closing in the summer because of budget cuts even though it is on a river and you really can't cut access to it.

We were out there a month or so ago, around the same time this post was put up last year. nice relaxing spot.

Funny the changes a year brings
