LJ 7/6. Slow

I finally made it out there. It's been about three years since I've had my yak out in the kelp. I got to big rock around 5:45 and was in the water within about a half hour. I B-lined it for the outer edge of the kelp, in a feeble attempt to yo-yo up a Yeller.

Made a few casts and was drifting back into the kelp and got hit pretty hard. Thought maybe it was a little YT, but it was a fat calico. Maybe a PB, but I don't carry a scale and my sharpie- ruler needs to be redone, but it was a toad.

Anyhow, after that I was getting no love on the iron, I decided to target the calicos and switched to plastics. Caught one dink.

At least it was a beautiful day. I forgot what a workout it is. My arms and upper body are cryin a little .

Hopefully try again next weekend and the feesh will cooperate.

Thanks for your post. Sounds like a fun calico to haul in.
I'm due to get back to LJ. Hoping the EL Nino is bringing some quality stuff from down south to up north for a visit.
