pushed out of kayak by seal?

Anyone see the news tonight where the kayaker had the video and the seal pushed him out of his kayak and was not letting him back in?

Just saw it on 10 news, it was a small sea lion pup and it looked scared, I have a feeling something was chasing it. It also was a diver and he wasn't pushed out of the Kayak. The seal however didn't want to go back in the water. Tax man may have been hunting.

Didn't see it. Was it in LJ? I've notices that there are groups of seals that hang together now. Maybe because it's tax season, I don't know but the males seem to be getting more aggressive.

The big males are gathering harems for mating this time of year - and yes, they can get very aggressive defending their turf.

Before you go swinging a knife at a seal you better know what you're getting into. If you don't kill it first shot you could be asking for trouble. These things are master swimmers in the water, if you fall in what's to say the Sea lion isn't going to come back and take a bite out of you. Along with that if anyone sees you doing so you could be in even hotter water. Do what you can to urge them along and avoid battling with them.

YES it is legal to carry a knife on a kayak..... ...... What you do with it is your decision. Better yet, why wouldn't you carry your knife?

I take a knife with me all the time. I don't know any fisherman that doesn't carry a knife.

A knife is a essential safety tool for any fisherman or a kayaker. What happens if you flip in the kelp and get tangled up in some kelp below the water without a knife, or a mishap with spectra or rope. I carry a knife for safety reasons and I would encourage everyone else to also, especially while hoop netting
