Krill ceviche?????

Kevin (the kid): Gabe, scoop up some Krill!

Me: Krill? Why?

Kevin: It makes awesome Ceviche!

Me: Really?! Ok i'm on it! Got it...call me bubba shrimp!

Amazing! And I thought I had made ceviche with just about every kind of sea food. I have been making ceviche for years now. And this is the best and tastiest I have ever made SOOOO GOOD!

In this case I boiled the krill for about 10 seconds and soaked it in lemon juice for about 15 min and drained it. I don't like my ceviche overwhelmed with lemon.

As you know, La jolla has been very slow since that wide open bite 3 weeks ago. I still have plenty of yellowtail in my freezer. But, I'm liking this more right now! Don't knock it till you try it!

Are you sure it wasn't the "Knob Creek" that made it taste sooo good? I sure would like to give that a try. Wonder how it would be "Poke" style? Some soy, Sesame Oil, Green onion, sea salt & a little hot pepper flakes. Sounds yummy

That looks good! I assume the shell is not noticeable after boiling?

I just called my wife over to check this out (we are expecting our second in about a month and a half). I will have to readdress after the pregnancy...those hormones play havoc with their cravings. I think it was the little black eyes that turned her off.

This looks amazing. Something I have never heard of before, but would assume it would cost you top dollar at a restaurant if you could find it.

Thank you Gabe for sharing, and thank you Kevin for staying true to your year round tan.

I may launch this week armed with only a scoop net.

Thanks!

The eyeballs are the best part! To me, Krill taste like combination of sardines and shrimp. If you like the taste of both, the taste explodes in your mouth!

I salted a few and put them in my pizza. That was good!
Im going back scoop more and freeze them.

But do you put the krill in your mouth before you do a shot of knob or do the shot first? Or is it lemon, salt, krill, shot! I had to kick the hard stuff, I'll substitute with Makers.
