LOOK MAW, TRIPLETS!

Just keeping with the theme...

Scallywag is right, sometimes...

But WSB fishing after the sun goes down never fails to get the adrenaline flowing.

I normally hate a crowd, especially an anchored down crowd with hundreds of lines, balloons and attitudes on the water
but when you find a little zone and hook up on a big girl...
The cost of diesel, lack of sleep, anchor lines, clean up etc. etc. all seem pretty damn trivial...

My kind of crowd:
(Being 6'-4" and around 245lbs, there wasn't much Trident above the water this night)

Damn I love kayak fishing!
(some nights just a little more than others)

The deck of your yak is a freakin' mess with all those fish on board and of course blood all over the place. Well done!

Don, that is very very impressive!!! You're so correct, all our pet peeves become trivial when one has an outing like yours. So stoked for ya my brother! Again, thanks for the warm welcome and I look forward to fish with ya brother

Fantastic catch, congratulations.
Nice seeing so many quality WSB being caught, knowing they've already had multiple times to spawn and perpetuate the population. Looks like the DFG rules of limit of 1 fish during the optimum breeding season is paying off. Judging by some of the fish meter comments made by many, there are still lots out there.

Thanks Matt
any suggestions on a bigger kayak?
I love my Trident, (she will be 4 years old next month)
But
I have been planning on trying the Hobie PA for awhile,
Because I'm not sure there's a better "real" kayak out there for me...

PA Limit is 2 wsb

Bellcon, Congrats on the long run and the big haul. Is that two limits nights so far this year or three? The PA is great for SUPaddling and chasing tail but it really only fits two large fish in front. I am not a fan of the hanging the tail of the back as most hobie other model owners do.

The PA is so wide you can fit a 60 pound WSB on each side of peddles and still do 2 knots back to shore. I nialed my Avatar almost as far South as Windensea so I had a long peddle back. I could have a used a second fish to level the load. Your stacking jobs are quite architecturally pleasing.

Even with your tall physique I bet you could cast a mean iron standing on a PA. The rob holders under the front are made for fresh water rods so I pulled them out and patched the holes with oak panels. My front hold has much more space now. PAs are great for taking out the family as well.
If you can't make it down to SD for the contest at the end of the month please feel free to join my virtual tournement team, Kurtfish

When I caught my twins I didn't try for numero tres because I was already having trouble strapping two of them down. I've been spoiled by the Mirage Drive and never considered removing it and strapping those boys down in the center of the yak.

Looks like a fun night Don!!! . Good job once again locating the fish! I unfortunately haven't got to fish off the yak since Mexico. Did have a fun weekend fishing from a boat in North Cal for salmon and halibut a few weekends ago visiting fam. Probably could squeeze a night trip in although with all the tequilla I might get lost out there .

My man!

Way to keep your eyes on the prize, Don. I hate when each fish keeps getting bigger than the last, too.

If you guys have never stood on the beach next to Don...well, he's freakin' huge. I'm talking Lobster cracking hands!

So, being that his big one looks to be a solid fifty...in his hands mind you...it must have been sixty plus! That's a trophy to be proud of, bro.

Now post up that damn Yellowtail!
