Ok, why not get this contest rolling and be the king at least for a couple days or so.

40lbs even (no good shot of scale, but can confirm weight with Mako Bob)

46in

Baja

First one kept the skull otoliith intact, second one removed the stones (got a 30lb. sea bass as well). Thanks Bob for taking care of the dirty business

Whatever Jim, here is a better angle for you, damn go pros always make them look weird. As for the lobster for the upcoming camping trip your right man, I totally wanted to provide lobster for everyone but I keep waiting on this local guy to take me out and show me his honey hole that everyone else knows about, hasn't called, yet. I'll let you know if he gives me a ring before the trip

I love to see those GONZAGA Bay area WSB, yes they are MEAN and LEAN!!
BUT you catch them in paradise. A 4 day weeekend gives you 2 1/2 days fishing. In season San Quintin can be great too. Get your buddies together and Go for it.

WSB submisson

Here is my submission:

Caught in Gonzaga Bay, Baja Mexico on 3-22-2015
Total length 57" Measured with 40" tape on the beach
Weight taken with Rapala digital scale 50.15 pounds
Wasn't able to hold fish up and take photo of scale/weight at the same time.

I attached a photo of tape measure on the rear on my kayak where the photo of the fish was taken to get scale. Hope this will do.

Let me know if it qualifies for the WCW WSB King

Allowed..........unless contested.

In addition, for each fish submitted, the weight needs to be supported by photo of the fish on a measuring tape showing its total length in inches. The fish must be weighed on an accurate scale. Reported fish weight will be compared to length to verify accuracy.

Caught in the merry month of May in 55 feet of 64 degree water on a greenback mackerel 65 spectra rigged to a 3 way swivel and 40# mono 3 oz torpedo and 2/0 live bait hook. Launched at 5 am and got bit at 10:30am. Crazy run had me wondering shark as I had been bit off earlier. Finally above the fish and the big broom tail had me wondering if that was a bat rays wings I was feeling. spectra definitely amplifies everything. At deep color I thought shark for a split second then "Holy $#!+" don't F this up Andrew! easy seabass gaff at the surface and tricky hoist into the kayak, pedals inopperable had to paddle in. Weighed 54.7 pounds and measured 54 inches. This is my 3rd WSB over 50 pounds and my second biggest in 17 years of kayak fishing. Very Stoked! Had some greatly appreciated help in looking for this fish. Thank you! Now hopefully some pot holing wanker does not steal the crown

Nice

Let me be the first to congratulate you on that awesome catch.
The crown is yours. "for now"

It must of been an oversight but you didn't mention where you were.

Heard a new king was about to be crowned but I thought I would take it over for a few minutes. Didn't enter this when I caught it cause it didn't occur to me... I'm still new here I guess. Tale of the tape and scale 50" 55 pounds even, LJ in february.
