Come on Rick -come out of hiding and tell us how you tricked this fish into your kayak.

From 2005, a 50.65 lb yellowtail caught near Black's Beach on a mackerel, the
canyon area that is now inside the MLPA closure.

Some Union Tribune reading from that great year for yellowtail -

My only 50lber to date

Not counting the threshers that Julie and I both caught, mine close to 80lbs, hers closing in on 90lb, this was the only other fish to our credit at or above the 50lb. mark.
I couldn't get an accurate reading on digital scale, kept on going above & below 50lbs. At Fisherman's Landing 2 days later, hit 50 on the nose.

Has anyone heard from Rick, last I heard he was south bound to Mexico, what an awesome guy to meet on the beach, weighed my largest YT at 39 lbs and was always a great guy to see on the beach. Never heard a negative word out of his mouth. That cow could not have been landed by a nicer guy.
