Mirage Drive Question

I didn't want to hijack the really good mirage drive thread but I had a situation on Monday that damaged my pride pretty good. When I launched there was a couple pushes that seemed to have a clicking sound with no motion from the fins. After I got through I didn't have/hear any problems.

On the way in I have been working on the reverse method, pushing through big waves and letting the little ones bring me in. If you were out there, the waves weren't the one footers like I kept seeing reported. I whipped the yak around to face the waves and began my return. As the big set came in, I started to peddle so I could push through and.....nothing....I kept peddling to the clicking sound with no motion from the fins. As I paddled through the first couple waves I knew this was not going to go well, so I bailed and rode the bow the rest of the way to the sand.

I checked everything when I got home and nothing looked out of the ordinary with the drive. I did the google trick and found a couple others had this problem but no wth's. Anybody know what my issue is and how to correct it?
