New to site

Hi guys, My names Paul. I live in Carpinteria. I have 2 8yr old boys and a 9 yr old boy. I am obsessed with fishing but my favorite is on my Trident 4.7 kayak.
Yet to catch anything to speak of. Also rigged the yak for hoop netting at night.
Have no one to yak with really. My boys aren't old enough to do it by themselves yet. Hope to meet some cool people, get some tips and post some reports.......

Welcome Dude.... I love fishin' in Carp.
We usually camp there every summer, and launch by the creek mouth. not so crowded. Lost a nice Thresher from the beach there.`

Island Brewing Co. is the best, in downtown.

I always thought of hoopin there.... it's on my list.
You got a lot of nice areas to fish there. Gotta love it..

Thanks Mtnbkr. I'm ready to go anytime, get to go usually one day a weekend.
Do you know Dermott Carol. I raced for ten years back in 93-2000. Did pretty well and traveled the Nationals for a few years. But took second to Dermie more than once....

Paul you may want to try "kayaksportfishing.com" as it is a yak site better situated to your area. You about at the northern end and a couple members there are close to your location. Your actually kind of in a tween area (as in in-between) with the norcal yakers being a bit north of you and the vast majority of kayaysportfishing to south of you; but lots of opportunity to meet other yakers if your willing to travel a little bit, or meet those that travel to your area.

Best of luck!

Welcome Paul, this place is very cool. Lots of great info, most folks are very nice and willing to share a lot. I camp at Carpinteria every year for spring break and during summer. Love that place, especially for kids.

Plan on taking my kayak this spring break (March 20-26) I'll remember to give you a heads up.

If you decide you gonna come down this Saturday to fish Cabrillo, we have a few guys that are cool, come join.

Pm me if you decide to go Sat. Matt

I am on both sites. I travel where the fish are biting. From Malibu all the way to Newport, and when yellow tails come out down to La Jolla.

Hey Paul, Cool you made it over. I was up in your neck of the woods today on the bike looking at launch spots.

Would be cool to fish with you some time.

Thanks for the warm welcome...

Bubble hide-I'll check out their site also. Ya, I could tell you guys were a little farther south. No worries. I've been on Get Bent for a while. They are great but not many yakkers. Always great to meet cool people...

Mtnbykr2-I'll be yak fishin on a tandem I borrow from my in-laws with my 9 year old son out of SB Harbor. It's basic w/ no hatches but I'm saving for a tandem. Remember, I have 3 turbo charged boys so it can be hard to get away for entire days some times-I fish when I can. Thanks for the invite thou

Blackrifle-your yaks look good, I was serious about wanting to hoop at the Ventura Breakwall-let me know...

StinkyMatt-See you then....

I'll try to post some pics of my yak soon..
Thanks All
