I googled Solo Skiff in order to perhaps buy one, a lot of copy cats to be sure that are really Kayaks of various sorts.

So where can one find one?

Funny I googled Solo Skiff today also and this thing came up?

https://brooklynkayakcompany.com/pro...gle%20Shopping

It costs $800 less, yet already has side handrails, and weighs 40lbs less yet has 151lbs more capacity. The one thing I really don't like about the Solo skiff is the capacity is only 400lbs. That does not leave much weight for the fish you catch!

In contrast, a Stealth Powerfisha 14 weighs 97lbs and has a 992lb capacity. I am surprised that nobody uses them.

Tom, the creator of the Solo Skiff, posted that he will have good news soon. Maybe hold off to see what he have to announce.
There's also a HooDoo Hero 130 that's seems to be very similar to the Solo Skiff. Here's the review.

From some utube videos i have seen of those model, I would say that they are not as sturdy a hull, as the Solo Skiff. They are the outer layer of Polypropylene hull only, but do not have a sprayed on layer of foam throughout the inside of the hull, like the Solo Skiff. That layer not only gives the Solo Skiff extra floatation, it gives it sound proofing and most importantly make the hull more rigid. When I get airborne some times going full speed and cresting some large rollers, I can't imagine some lighter, less rigid hull taking the pounding so many miles from shore and alone.

That's a good idea. Not in a rush...

Good points. The foam probably makes the Solo unsinkable. If only Solo could come up with a lighter stronger foam to reduce the weight while increasing capacity. The competitor's hulls without foam appear to have a more stepped hull design, increasing strength, but must create turbulence that probably makes it even harder to read a fishfinder while underway.

As I understand it, the powerfisha is not available for sale in the US anymore because of some copyright lawsuit between stealth and solo. I am not sure who had the original but Solo has the rights in the US.

Other than the general shape of the craft, the Powerfisha and the Solo Skiff are very different. If anything, Brooklyn's BKC MK13 13-Foot Solo Fishing Skiff is a total copycat of the Solo Skiff. It's a small motorized vessel with an inset motor so that the back acts as trim tabs. To have that copywrited is like copywriting a paddle kayak.

Update: An email reply from Stealth SA, confirms that "unfortunately the PowerFisha line is undergoing a redesign at this time. Hoping it will be available soon but we don’t have any details yet about release date or cost."

Chinese knockoffs

Hey guys, a few things to consider here; the hoodoo and brooklyn boats are the same ones available from china through alibaba. Also, it appears that crescent kayaks has taken over manufacturing of the solo skiff but hasn't begun running them yet. They are now on their website however in what looks to be a soft launch.
