What up at the LJ Launch?

Just looked at the LJ webcam for the first time in a while. What's up with all of the digging and construction equipment?

Just remember to bring your yak and your surfboard so either way the day won't be a total wash.

They're building a tunnel that will lead straight to the YT and WSB fishing grounds

The guy is asking a sincere question and he gets a bunch of bogus answers. Shame on you guys!

The truth is, they are building a fish cleaning facility. Like this one...

Oh thank God, no more stupid questions from tourists...

Did you catch that on your kayak? In the ocean?

Launch 2014 Update

You are subscribed to received construction updates on the Avenida De La Playa Infrastructure Replacement Project and Sewer Water Group Job 809.

This is the first update of 2014 and the New Year is off to a great start with both projects.

First, here's what is happening with the Avenida De La Playa Infrastructure Replacement Project:
Construction of the outfall structure at the base of Avenida De La Playa is on schedule. The outfall structure is taking shape with the base and walls now in place. For the week of January 13th, more rebar and cement work is scheduled.
The first steps in replacing the water and sewer lines along Avenida De La Playa are taking place. A two-inch highline is being put in place from Camino Del Oro to Camino Del Sol and along Camino Del Sol to Vallecitos to provide water service. This week the City's lab will test the water quality in the highline, the result will be available next week. If the test passes, the City will shut down the existing water main for a short period at night in order to connect the highline service. Please exercise caution when parking along the highline.
Excavation of the sewer line on Avenida De La Playa between Camino Del Oro and Camino Del Sol is set to begin on January 16th. Please follow the traffic detours that will be set up.
Speaking of Camino Del Sol, there has been street repair work going on that is not related to this project. The City's Street Division has replaced two panels of concrete between Avenida De La Playa and Vallecitos. Thank you for following the detours so that work could take place and the concrete can dry.
Here is what is happening with Sewer and Water Group Job 809:

The archaeological surveys will expand during the week of January 13th to include Vallecitos at El Paseo Grande. The surveys will determine whether these areas are likely to contain significant archaeological resources. The work will take place during weekdays only from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Please follow the temporary detour and no parking signs. The no parking signs will be enforced. Make sure to include additional time into your daily commute.
Construction to install a new sewer pipeline will begin on January 16th at the intersection of El Paseo Grande and Paseo Del Ocaso. This phase of construction will move south down El Paseo Grande to Camino Del Oro. The work on this phase is scheduled to be completed by the end of February, 2014, weather permitting.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while work progresses on this project. Every provision will be taken to quickly and efficiently complete the work.

Please encourage your neighbors to join our mailing list!

I'd be pissed if I paid $$300+ for a ocean front room and had to see and hear this everyday
