Non Kayak - South Lake

What's Up BWE,

Headed up the 395 for a quick assault on the local trout population.
Hit up South Lake on a rental skiff, and wow the water is way down. Caught and released a bunch of DFG stockers. At roughly mid day, managed this beauty. My personal Best Sierras fish. Weighed in at 4.36 at the end of the day. Caught on the troll using a pink crankbait.

Hit up PVR on Sunday morning, and while we caught no large fish, the stockers seemed quite healthy and put up a great fight for their size.

I'll spare you pictures of the stockers and just skip to the best part the South Lake Alpers. Good luck and Tight Lines!

That is South Lake, about 18 miles above Bishop.

No real wind on this trip. It did get a bit breezy several times during the day, but it was beautiful up there this weekend. I'd say it was about 70 degrees on the lake for most of the day. I heard it got to over 100 again in OC on Saturday. That is the way to beat the heat!
