Maybe I'll have bad luck next time and get me a 50 lb

Nice fish and good attitude. Thanks for reminding us to not worry about the little things and to celebrate the joyful ones. My grampa always said "don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things!"

Ahhh, the ol' leave the gaff at home trick, fish light line and get slammed by a big WSB...sounds like a perfect plan to me. Looks like you still ended up a few hundred dollars ahead at the end of the day, good job!

The hat in the on-the-water photo was a $5.99 special that George bought at 7-11 on the way to the water - didn't really wind up needing it as we were off the water by 8am.

I posted the report for my buddy George - at his direction. George is a newbie, as am I. I think I was more excited than I would have been had I actually landed it - I did wind up gloving the fish and pulling it from the water.

George was good enough to give me as much fish as I wanted - any recommendations on how to prepare it?
