MBF @ Irvine 12/10/11

Some of us are getting together to fish Irvine on December 10th (Saturday). If there are enough kayakers we could do a "Money Between Friends."

MBF @ Irvine Lake:

1) The MBF will start at 6am and end at 1pm
2) Sign-in ends at @ 7:00am
3) Weigh-in will take place at the tackle store
4) Buy-in is $10
5) $$$ goes to the heaviest stringer (trout only)
6) The fish has to be caught from a kayak
7) California DFG and lake rules must be followed

* I plan to be at the lake by 5:30am. I'll be at the kayak launch in front of the tackle store to collect money. My cell is (213) 663-5243.

I linked the lake rules below...

Count me in. I seem to not be so good at the saltwater part of kayak fishing but freshwater is something im good at. Time to bust out the ultralight and the 2lbs test spectra and mosquito hooks

Erick, put that gaff away!

You might poke your eye out or accidentally gaff a nice Halibut!

We wouldn't want ANY of that.

Take the gaff and practice on the Seal Lady in LJ, you'll get good in no time!

So any idea of how many kayakers were talking about that might be going?
Maby we could get a group deal on entry costs?
If not anyone have a link to any online coupons for fishing there?

looks like the prices are pretty much in stone as this is a private lake, 22.00 a head, no license needed, big deal...but they stock big trout and kitties there, big enough for a sliegh ride on the yak, could turn out to be a big group, hopefully the weather cooperates...

Below is a map of Irvine Lake if you haven't fished it...

You can launch at the boat ramp or the kayak launch closer to the tackle store. There are other kayak launch areas near Trout Islands as well.
Bring you kayak cart for either launch just in case.
