Window7 and the Webcam

Just bought a new computer with Window 7 on it. I allowed the Axis to be loaded on the computer and still no webcam picture.
What am I doing wrong, and has anyone else had this problem?

And yes I did go to tread on how to get the Axis installed.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

It seems the problem is with Internet Explorer, use Firefox. The Axis program is probably unsigned and IE will not install it unless you turn off all the internet security settings.
I use Windows 7 and Firefox, no problems with the webcam.

Try to run Internet Explorer as an administrator, that fixes it:
  • find the IE Icon under All Programs
  • Right mouse button click on it, choose "Run As Administrator"
That did it for me on my new Win7 laptop. Once you install it and it properly registers, you ought to be all set.

Try Chrome or Firefox. You might like them better than IE.

So what is this post all about and how does it have anything to do with Kayak fishing or is it just a general question? Reason I ask is I use Skype to talk to the wife and kids at home while I am at work at the Fire Station and love it. Being able to use it out fishing some way would be cool also. And what is Axis? Sorry for the dumb questions...

Axis is an ActiveX control (an add-on program for IE) that allows you to view the LJ webcam on this site. As far as Skype on the water, it depends on whether you are talking about video chat or just voice.

Where is the link for the LJ webcam? I would like to try it out. Thanks.

Never mind. Found it. Duh...
