My lord, that is that last thing I want to see coming at me while I'm on my kayak

I had a whale surface and spray just feet from me last year which almost rolled me off my yak cuz I was looking down to tie on a hook. I didn't see it and just the movement from the wake he created almost had me in the drink. Startled the hell out of me.

What an awesome picture !
I'd be just glad he/she was doing that over there, I'd be changing my shorts if he/she were any closer. However I'd bet that was an exhilarating moment.
That would make for a "GREAT" wall poster. I don't think i've ever seen a poster/picture like that (some food for thought...how much for the rights?).

Not a fan of having the grey whales coming up 10 feet behind the kayak and then diving right under me. I had that happen 2 years ago. Not fun.

Those are some awesome pictures of the whale. I love the one were he's breaching and upside down. I see you must be taking some of your better gear Chris, instead of the IPhone.

It's great that you have the presence of mind to grab a camera and snap these shots.

Personally, I would be staring in awe, and in fear that this guy/girl might come up from underneath and/or land on me! .
