1/26 DP

Headed out of the harbor around 7:45 for a nice day out on the water. Overcast throughout the day, but the fish were active.

The bait was some lively chovies and with a few scopes I was off the the point. Ended the day with 5 calicos, 1 sandie, 1 short WSB and 2 short leopards (all released). I did have a 4 or so foot gray smoothhound shark chase after my flylined chovie up to the yak, eventually hooked him, but he straitened out the hook (was using thin hooks for the chovies).

Could only snap a few pictures with the phone because I forgot the GoPro.

Was off the water around 12:30, not a bad day for winter time.

Sweet, the chovies always make for a nice mixed bag.

I fished DP the same day but in the afternoon. I was too cheap to buy bait so I went looking for some. I never found any but not wanting to fish for bass anyway, I did get a nice mix of perch, smelt, and some other random fish I couldn't identify. All released.

I wont lie sometimes I got out with anterior motives and the day turns out great. Just as I was leaving the harbor I had a jetski fisherman ask about the beer, but I find some mornings an IPA is the best breakfast
