This is a critical time as Bob Fletcher is fighting the MLPA in court on our behave once again. As Bob E. mentioned the shrill voices on the other side are well funded but uniformed and we need to do all we can to support the legal efforts that may end-up overturning the whole mis-information mess that was the MLPA process. Mr. Fletcher has prevailed with one legal victory already and we need to support his continuing efforts.

We can whine on-line and to each other all we want about the poor data or lack there of but if we sit on our hands and don't open our wallets it is all water under the bridge and Bird Rock MPA will be closed forever.

The fishermen in OC and LA counties are really up a creek with the proposed MPAs up that way. In the future LJ and other open areas will become more crowded and then overfishing of a limted area and resource could really be an issue. Condensing commercial fisherman and recereational fishermen into smaller areas is the goal of the MLPA and we know that is not in our best interests no matter what spill-over BS they offer.

Many of us put in lots of time and spent some money during our efforts to have our voices heard during the arduous public imput process of the MLPA. Now, is the time we really need to step-up and support the legal battle that does have a real chance of righting the wrong that is the MLPA.

amen...if you can't make it to the functions there is always donations to
our cause the dinner sunday, too far for me but I am in the raffle..hats,
shirts all kinda good stuff, but we all need to pitch in...

or we won't have this icon anymore, thank you for keeping us informed
