I've heard of some other stuff, 303 Aerospace protectant. My friend used it on his kayak after it was pretty weathered and it made it look like new. I've seen it advertised in a few magazines and some boaters use it.

You think that would be bad for the water? I mean the thousands of boats that are in the water and leaking oil and gas and who knows what else. I know backnin the day the old ti.ers ised to use wd40 for lobster

I actually wanted to try the wd40, but then someone told me it was a bad idea. Told me that 303 stuff works best.

There's no fish oil in WD-40, it's just a myth... the stuff can't be good for the water.

The 303 I have and can't really tell if it works or not on my newish yak. I guess I'll see how the plastic holds up over time.

303 protects the plastic, not just makes it look new. I store my kayak outside, and use it religiously.

Great product.

WD 40

Don't let a game warden catch you using wd 40 out on the water. It is a polutant on the water and a big fine.

I buy mine on Amazon. I haven't seen it in stores for a while, not that I've looked recently.

Have you read the MSDS on 303?

ftp://69.2.51.153/pub/MSDS/437434_ProtectantMSDS.pdf

scroll to the bottom section 12.1

get a cover if your going to leave it outside.

Way to ruin it Bus Kid

Really though, the 303 probably isn't that great but using it from time to time to refresh the plastic wouldn't be sooo bad.
