Very cool. Have you found one color working better than the others? How about smaller live mackerel? Do you ever fish live bait or just prefer Gulp cause it’s easier?

I tend to get bit on chartreuse or white plastics better than other colors, regardless of the type of plastic I'm using or the fish I'm targeting. That may be just me, but it might be some kind of visibility thing.

As for live bait, yes I do use them. I've dropped medium to large size mackerel down on the deeper rocks and generally tend to catch smaller rockfish and Boccaccio on them versus jigs and lures. I have no clue why, they are much bigger than the lures I use. I do find that lure and jig fishing is more challenging too, so I do enjoy the reward. However I don't usually skip out on live bait since there may or may not be toothy ones around...
