Ride needed

28 May- 2 June

I need to visit our place in Gonzaga anytime during this time period. I need to deliver a generator to my place and bring back a kayak , a couple rods and reels and some tackle to Vista.
We would stay at my place, you could fish a couple of days, we would eat at the resturant to keep it simple. Hopefully share gas and catch a fish or two. Would prefer that you drive but we could take my vechicle if need be. Anyone interested please let me know. Thank you and tight lines.

Has anyone made the paddle to the islands? Debating bringing the kayaks or getting a panga somehow to maybe find some grouper/pargo/cabrilla

Ask Sven, he's paddled to the islands, and more have I'm sure. A panga would be a short ride. But you don't need to go all the way to islands to shoot all of the above fish. Caught a 26 lb cabrilla less than 1/2 way to the islands. They're around. Look for the big uprise off the point.

Definitely lot of Cabrilla. Locals have talked about grouper but I did not catch any. On my last trip over there I caught two 15# cabrilla on irons

I've peddled to the island three times. It's a long paddle, that takes about 90 minutes depending on the tide. Almost 5 miles. On two of those trips I had to deal with very windy conditions and wind waves on the way back. On one of those trips we got back just in time because the wind really kicked up to where it was so bad my truck got sand blasted. It blew for two days and then we decided to go home because we couldn't fish. It was not fun. The wind can be unpredictable.
One of the problems it the side you tend to fish is the lee side on the island so it's hard to tell or see if the wind is starting to pick up. Then by the time you feel the wind it's too late. If you try to get back to camp you have a two hour paddle across a lot of open water.
If you do decide to hit the island on your kayak you should pack extra water, food and gear and be prepared to spend the night.
When we went to the island we were able to communicate with camp/Bob on our marine radios.

Does anyone know a dependable panga guy in the area or a good marina to hire one?
