Leo Carrillo Sunday the 7th

Anyone interested in meeting up at Leo this Sunday?
I plan on being there at 6 and launch around 6:30.

Solspot shows 3-4 ft waves on Sunday, that is pushing my comfort level on the beach launch there. Will keep an eye to see if that drops at all but its been a while for me at Leo and would like to hit it again.

I am going to park by the stairs.
The stairs as of last Saturday are still closed.
Going to have to wheel kayak down by the burned out bathrooms and down onto the sand.
From there I will find a nice sandy spot to launch.

Hi Roscoe, I think we've met there before. I remember you parking at the stairs and wheeling your kayak around and about to get down to the sand.

I didn't realize the stairs are closed, why are they closed?

Leo

So did you guys go out? Wondering how you did. Planning on going soon. I have been wanting to fish the kelp for a long time. Just wondering how the bit is now. Thanks.

Went out.
Morning was nice. Swell not too bad maybe 2-3 foot with a couple bigger sets.
Fishing was slow. I caught some brown rock fish and one white fish. All where on the small side. So they all went back.
Water has cleaned up.
I left around 10 as the wind was changing directions.
Going to try for next Sunday as well.

Roscoe can I expect that fishing there is normally good? I would hope to get at least a couple keeper size fish. Are Sheephead plentiful? My goal would be to catch 1 or 2 of those. Just want to set my expectations as the drive will be kind of long. Thanks!
