Lake Skinner

I want to fish laker Skinner but can't bc they don't allowed sit on top yaks. I have a PA14 which has been registered with the DMV. My question is.. since my PA is considered as a vessel will they still have a problem with letting me in?

Not sure about Skinner but most of the lakes/reservoirs that have that rule is because it is drinking water and no human contact with the water is allowed. Suggest the OP call the office at Skinner and get the answer. My bet is no, not allowed.

Ross got it right. It's a drinking water reservoir so no human contact. You'll need a canoe or boat.

I wonder if you found a stipulation, Makes sense what you are saying about your yak being registered as a vessel. How can they say one vessel is ok but a plastic one not ok? I would give it a shot at least. Dont ever mention the word kayak, its a plastic, but registered vessel...

I don't think that Hobie even calls them a kayak?

It has to do with open scuppers allowing human water contact. A sit inside kayak is allowed as long as it is the minimum length if I remember correctly.

The PA makes their size requirements. When I purchased my first one from Nomad Ventures. I was told that Skinner will allow them. I never went to test it out. But it is what I was told.
