Friends, we're just one week out from the big benefit to raise cash to keep La Jolla and our other precious kayak and spear fishing sites open.
It's not too late to join us! Please sign up now at http://www.diamond-safety.com/signup-form.htm. You can bring your $30 to sign-in at the OE Express dive shop on Avenida la Playa on June 27 - tourney day - any time between 4 am and 6:30. Day-of walk-ins are welcome, but if possible please sign up so we can tell Chipotle Mexican Grill, our fabulous lunch sponsor, how many buritos we'll need. Raffle donations are gratefully accepted. Please bring your new or gently used item to sign-in. Our current grand prize is a Pelican Strike Elite 130 fishing kayak complete with seat and rudder. Look for new posts covering the prizes and important tournament operational details in the days to come. We've got some special treats in store, like Cash for Trash (well, more like a prize), Catch of the Day, a Big Bass Bonus, and other things I can't tell you about quite yet. Remember, this is not only a day of fun. This is a way to help keep your fishing access. Current sign-ups have us at 49 for Big Fish, 18 for Big Bass, and 5 for Spear Fish. We need at least 100 boats strong. Don't sit on the side-lines, come on out and fish!
